The First Restaurant Opens

Guzman y Gomez opens its very first restaurant in Newtown, Sydney — a small but bold debut bringing authentic Mexican flavours to an eager neighbourhood crowd.

2010

Expansion Across Sydney

Growing word-of-mouth and a loyal fanbase drives rapid expansion. GYG opens five new locations across metropolitan Sydney within 18 months.

2013

Going National

Guzman y Gomez crosses state borders for the first time, opening restaurants in Melbourne and Brisbane and establishing a true national footprint.

Drive-Thru Revolution
